This is our second winter using our Wood Doctor 8000 and we couldn't be happier. We are heating water, our house and the shop (we keep the fan off except when out there) and use no propane! My wife loves not having the mess inside - after 25 + years of using indoor units. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Wood Doctor. I've attached a photo of the unit from this past fall and you will notice only a small trace of smoke. We've had a stretch of a couple of weeks where the nights have been as low as -20 f and our unit has kept up fine.

My new Wood Doctor WD 8000 has proved to be just the right size burner I needed to heat my 3000 sq ft home. I've been pleasantly surprised at how little smoke the woodburner produces... 90% of the time there's just a trickle of smoke and I haven't heard any complaints from neighbors.... in fact it has generated great interest in the neighborhood and I've been passing around your business cards!

I'm happy to say that over the last 7 months I haven't used a drop of oil.... the wood heats my house and an apartment downstairs and provides hot water for showers for two families! Thank you again for your help from start to finish and for providing a product that performs admirably.

I purchased a Wood Doctor back in Nov. of 05 and got everything hooked up by Dec of 05. Granted last years winter wasn't the coldest one on record, but the boiler worked great. Not only did it heat our OLD drafty farm house, but it also heated our water for showers and laundry. Normally my wife wouldn't use hot water to wash our clothes in hot or warm water because of the electric bill, but with the wood boiler, I have turned the power OFF to the water heater.
This was one of the BEST investments that we've made

The Wood Doctor is a good investment and Barrett Enterprises is a knowledgeable, helpful business. I can call with questions and get answers either from Barrett Inc, or from Art, the owner or Bill, his brother the troubleshooter. I have found that I can burn all types of wood successfully. The house is cleaner and warmer then ever. By using wood that is four feet long, the whole woodcutting job is much easier.

What a great investment. No longer do I have to drag my wood into the basement. No more running up and down the steps to load a wood furnace 4 times a day. No more smoke in the house. No more house that seems either too hot or cold. My new wood furnace sits out beside my wood shed which eleminates handling the wood as often, plus I do not need to cut my peices of wood as small anymore since I can take up to a 4 foot peice. I load the stove in the morning on the way to work, and in the evening after dinner. I have no chimney to clean which is probably the biggest blessing of all. The house seems to stay at a constant 70 degrees no matter what the weather. I also am able to heat my hot water with this furnace, in turn saving on my electric bill. Since I am bringing the heat into the house in a liquid form, I no longer am drying out the air so much which helps with the humidity in the house.

We hooked up our Wood Doctor to an existing propane hot air furnace and are amazed at the amount of heat we receive. The boiler produces much more heat than the gas furnace ever did and even when the furnace fan is not running there is residual heat emanating from the registers because there is always hot water running through the exchanger. We no longer have cold spots in our house. In our opinion this is the ideal set up, especially for older homes with existing ductwork.

After more research than usual I decided to buy the Wood Doctor Furnace and feel very good about the decision. This furnace solved many problems for me: job site waste wood is now hot water and homestead clean up is effortless. The main reason for buying this furnace was (fire) safety, but it also feels very good to have a way to heat that is not based on gas or oil with current rising prices!

We are very pleased with our Wood Doctor furnace. I heated my taxidermy shop and all our domestic hotwater this past winter. It used no more wood than if I had burnt it in the woodstove in the shop, plus it heated our domestic hot water. We had used propane to heat our hotwater and the outdoor furnace cut our propane bill by over $100 per month. I am keeping it going all summer just for the hot water! We plan to have the house hooked up to it as well this winter and are looking forward to only having to feed one outdoor fire to heat both buildings. See attached pictures of our setup.

Thank you for your prompt responses I will keep your product in mind as I am not sure of the alternative heating option I may choose, I like the steel plate construction I work with stainless steel every day and do not think it is a very suited material for constructing fire boxes.
